18.1.16

Dart Weekend Thurs - Sun 15 - 17.1.16

Thursday

Ate soup and slobbed about - marvellous!
Rumour has it that some people went canoeing and caving.
REALLY??!!

Friday

Walking the old railway track from Princetown.

 Just over 7 miles.

Enjoy the next 16 shots of the walk

: )

Then the evening came and we set about creating a  mess.
Lots of the group joined in.

We were making mini sculptures in the medium of ....

 FONDANT ICING!

 PINK FONDANT ICING.

At the end of the evening we had created this work of art.

Saturday

Another day,
Another walk.

 Fernworthy Reservoir.

A walk for the old and the knackered,
everyone else went for a paddle on the Upper, the Loop or both.
Been there,
done that,
still no tee shirt.

WHERE'S MY TEE SHIRT??????

 Julie

Julie and Tom pick up where last nights artists left off.

Finally we had our finished article, complete with Amandas' Union Jack,

 and candles.

The cake recalls members feelings and memories of their Dart weekends over the last 30 years; this includes Ambrose' giant turd in the Lentil House loo, Johns bust up nose, the Brimpts Farm hot tub, a shuttle bunny (or some more modern, less sexist, kayakers bunny), enough broken paddles to go into the splits business, a chefs apron, a British competitive team, and plenty of rocks and white water  being tackled by boats of all descriptions.

All in all, a very sophisticated cake.

The 6 original members of the Dart weekend took part in blowing out the candles: Paul Fessi (check shirt, sadly no head), Phil Greenwood, Graham Hill, Dave Watson, Jen Watson (behind the lens) and the man that made it all possible 30 years ago; Gerry Barnfield.

Sunday

This years alumni
Ages from about 2years to about 82years.
3 generations have come along.
An ever growing circle of friends.

Sunday

Lovely dawn

with a partial cloud inversion.
For us a short walk around Lucky Tor, with views of Euthanasia Falls on the Upper Dart and a couple of groups tackling the stretch.

Small kitchen, big enthusiasm.

Like the group
