Sea Kayaking To Exmouth - Sunday 13.3.11

IT'S OUR LAST MORNING : (

Here we are then, almost the whole gang, looking sad to be leaving .... or is that happy to be heading off to do good things?

We had one last meet on the side of the road - it's a BOB THING!

For Gerry, Jaquie and Bob their day was to be a drive along the SOUTH DEVON COAST, for us 5 it was a saunter down the EXE ESTUARY; every one else headed straight home.

Enjoy our serene journey

as we drift with the tide

on such a lovely day,  checking out all points of interest..

We had to zig zag a bit to keep to the deeper water

that flowed around the emerging sandbanks.

We could see our final destination, just in front of us here, but it was cut off by a wide sandbank and mud flats.

We took a loop round and

had to portage

the last bit - bad planning!

Flapjacks kept the wolf from the door as the car collection was organised.

Really good slip here, ideal for us happy paddlers.

The sun and water were getting low by the time we were loaded up and ready to head out.

What a perfect day: )
