EYE PENINSULAR (AN RUBHA) , LEWIS Monday 12.7.10

We made a lovely lazy start to our day, with a decent cooked brekky fairly closely followed by a good lunch.

Then off we went to STORNOWAY to meet Rob Emmott for half a days paddling.

He sorted out boats and kit for all of us, as well as STORNAWAY CANOE CLUB MEMBERSHIP.

We helped load up the boats

and get them to the launch site, on EYE PENINSULAR.

STIG had arrived ahead of us, parked his performance vehicle on the beach, and was clearly on the water somewhere. Now we know where he goes when he's not on TOP GEAR.

We jumped onto the water and, then, made our way back to the car, passing under SEA ARCHES,

and around ROCKY OUTCROPS,

and onto lunch.

All smiles as we paddled on our way,

(well, sort of)

admiring SEA BIRD COLONIES of SHAG, GUILLAMOTS.

And KITTIWAKES.

The SHAGS rafted around this weird rock with PROFILES OF FACES on it.

Graham was loving it.

Beautiful rock formations,

and a skinny ARCH to finish.

We paid our membership to the club and bought ROBS BOOK before heading back to our little house.

You wont need to be a paddler to enjoy this book, even 'normal people' will

LOVE IT.
